In-Person Private Dog Training
Do you have a skill in mind that you would like to work on with your furry family member, but need guidance to complete it successfully? Does your furry friend display a behavior that you would like to see change? Is your veterinarian recommending working with a trainer regarding husbandry skills? If the answer to any of these questions was yes or if there is another scenario you need help with then this is the right choice for you. Contact us to make a personalized training plan for your furry family member and create a positive learning environment for success.
In-person training is conducted in your home. Kayla creates a training plan and teaches you and your furry family member how to complete homework associated with the training plan. Then you teach your furry family member over the course of a few weeks. You and Kayla meet again to assess progress and adjust or take next steps in the training plan.
*Kayla’s in-person service offered in Mercer Island, Issaquah, Renton, Kent, Maple Valley and communities within this area.
Virtual Private Dog Training
We also offer virtual training if you are outside our service area or are uncomfortable meeting in person.
Virtual training is completed via video-conferencing. Kayla creates a training plan and teaches you and your furry family member how to complete homework associated with the training plan. Then you teach your furry family member over the course of a few weeks. You and Kayla meet again to assess progress and adjust or take next steps in the training plan.
Canine Life Skills Class
Not quite sure where to start with training your dog, but want them to be successful and create a lasting bond with them? Then this is the perfect place to start. Canine Life Skills Class is a 6 week program with guided topics that are important for every dog to know. Some of the topics we will cover include targeting, putting on a harness/collar (and comfort with reaching toward the collar), loose leash walking, basic husbandry and basic confinement/alone time. This class can be either in person or virtual.
*Canine Life Skills Class is geared toward puppies/young adolescent dogs that are just starting out on their training journey. If you have an older dog we would be happy to discuss the possibility of this class with you or determine if private training is more appropriate. Sometimes older dogs have a history of being afraid of certain things, such as husbandry behaviors, and it is in their best interest that we address those with a more focused approach before branching out.

Cooperative Veterinary Care through Mercer Island Veterinary Clinic
Kayla is an LVT (Licensed Veterinary Technician) at Mercer Island Veterinary Clinic and offers training services while at the clinic. Cooperative veterinary care covers both preventative and intervention training related to husbandry skills (nail trims, brushing, teeth brushing, injections, blood draws, etc.). Our furry friends don’t understand what happens in a veterinary clinic so this type of training prepares them for things they will encounter. Please call Mercer Island Veterinary Clinic at (206) 232-0333 to schedule at the clinic.
