Cooperative Veterinary Care

and Husbandry

Teaching guardians how to prepare their dogs for veterinary care in a hospital setting or husbandry at home.

Pawsitive Living Dog Training is here to help!

Cooperative care is an approach that focuses on building trust, communication, and positive experiences with your furry friend during various aspects of their care routine. From grooming sessions to veterinary visits, cooperative care allows for a stress-free and enjoyable experience for both you and your canine companion.

By implementing cooperative care techniques, you are not only ensuring the physical well-being of your dog but also nurturing their emotional well-being. Through positive reinforcement training methods and gradual exposure, we can help your dog develop a sense of calmness and confidence during routine procedures such as nail trims, ear cleanings, or even taking medication. This not only reduces anxiety but also strengthens the bond between you and your furry friend.

We started working with Kayla when our German Shepherd, Socs, was just 13 weeks old (born October 2024), and the experience has been exceptional from day one. Kayla is incredibly professional, knowledgeable, and intentional in her approach. She not only understands dog behavior deeply, but she also knows how to clearly teach us as owners so we can reinforce training confidently at home. What sets Kayla apart is her calm, caring presence, and consistently positive attitude. She builds trust with both dog and family, which has made a huge difference in Socs’ development. Thanks to her guidance, Socs has grown into a well-mannered, confident young dog with a strong foundation. We are truly grateful for Kayla’s expertise and would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trainer who genuinely cares about long-term success.

Andrea and Socs

Kayla was great to work with! She was easy to coordinate training sessions with and was full of useful tips for how to get our young dog to make the behavior changes we were looking for. She was also great at helping us and our dog prepare for the upcoming change of becoming a big fur brother. We'd highly recommend working with her!
